piedmont, literally the “at the foot of the mountain” is nestled between the French and Swiss alps in north-west Italy. it is the elegant home of the baroque palazzos of turin and also the rustic heart of the “Slow Food Movement” which promotos local cuisine and traditional cooking.

the region is criss-crossed with vines, seemingly as far as the eye can see, but the beating heart of the winelands gives rise to two of italy’s greatest wines - barolo and barbaresco. the food is no less spectacular, with egg-rich fresh pastas, white truffles and the liberal use of red wine in risottos & braised meats.
